SpacerOne major cause of fear one confronts during a divorce is the fear of the unknown. In order to tackle this type of fear, one has to be comfortable with learning about the process they are about to go through. Your learning starts with selecting an attorney who is truly knowledgeable about the divorce process. Selecting an attorney who does one or two divorces a month, or even one or two divorces a year, will not allow you to gain the knowledge necessary to concur your fears. Select an attorney who is intent upon teaching you what you should expect to go on during your divorce, within reason, knowing that not every event can be foreseen.

As a part of the learning process, make sure to ask your attorney questions. Before meeting with your attorney write down questions and concerns you have about the process itself. A lot of the times, a little bit of knowledge can go a long way to easing, or even erasing, your fear.
